FAQ's ABOUT WINDOW TINT
WHAT IS THE LEGAL LIMIT ALLOWED IN THE STATE OF TEXAS?
The legal limit applies to only the front two driver/passenger windows in the state of Texas.
The law states that the state windows must meter above a 25% VLT(Visual Light Transmission). Most people would think legally they can have a 25% film installed on their front windows. This is often wrong because the meter will actually read lower than the legal limit because it’s measuring the VLT's of the glass and the film combined. To prevent this, most places install a 30-35% on the front two windows so you don’t have to worry about failing a State inspection or a ticket for being to dark. WHAT'S THE BENEFITS OF WINDOW TINT?
Window Tint can help by considerably reducing the heat coming into your vehicle. It also adds privacy to your vehicle.
HOW IS THE TINT APPLIED TO MY VEHICLE?
The tint is installed on the inside of the glass. The basic process starts when we first we clean your windows of any dust or debris. The film is then cut out from a computer cut plotting system. That removes any chances of scratching the glass or cutting the film on the glass of the vehicle. Afterwards, the film is put through a heating process to mold the film to fit your car. The tint is then applied with a water based solution to activate the adhesives to begin the bonding process to the inside of the glass while installation.
WHY DOES IT SEEM LIKE THERE IS WATER/ STREAKS IN THE GLASS?
After applying the tint, it will go through a curing or dying out process. Since we install the tint with a water based solution, there is often a few small pockets of water left between the film and the glass. This is completely normal and usually takes about 3-7 days to completely dry out. We recommend to leave your windows up and your car parked outside in the sun to help speed the drying process up.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE WINDOW TINT
They are pretty simple just do not roll down your windows for 3-5 days afterwards. Please avoid applying any pressure to the inside of the glass for about two weeks. Cleaning instructions are also simple, just avoid using Windex or any cleaners with ammonia. We recommend using Sprayway glass cleaner, you can find it locally at Wal-Mart, HEB and Home Depot.
DOES MY OLD TINT NEED TO BE REMOVED TO INSTALL NEW TINT?
Yes if the Vehicle has been tinted before with aftermarket film, the old film will have to be removed for us to install new tint. Especially if the film has been peeling or is bubbling up. There is an extra charge for removal of the old film and it can take about an extra 2-5 hours for removal.
